It's been a while since I've done any illustration, but whilst I had a break from filming recently, I created the artwork for Edinburgh based SHIELDS UP of which I'm currently a part of. Together, we came up with the concept of a galleon in a sea of hands spreading across the whole digipack and I took it from there, trying to create a strong finish with a limited colour palette of reds.
TRUSTY CHORDS is a new Edinburgh club night I started with a friend and this is the first poster / identity created for it. I realised our main aim and why we picked the name was to let the band's do the talking so to speak, as there are no other clubnights in Edinbrugh playing this selection. So listing them in a guitar, taking up the majority of the poster seemed to be a fitting concept.
"To weird to live, to rare to die." After recently watching 'Gonzo: The Life & Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson' I decided to create an illustration in tribute to him. His shirt features the two thumbed fist, originally used when he ran for Sheriff (now adopted as the Gonzo logo) and the trees are subtly splattered with ink à la Ralph Steadman.

With a UK tour and record release night fast approaching, very little time was left to produce the artwork. With the title 'Consuming Our Compassion' in place and a quick brainstorm, the concept of creating one scene that was juxtaposed between front and back covers, of the two opposite camera angles was chosen. With less than a week to realise this difficult concept, it was a tough challenge but we ended up with something we were all very happy with, reflecting the music well and continuing the Hijacks bold imagery.
After working on their previous album artwork, the Murderburgers asked me to design their new album 'Burned Out, Worn Out' based on a rough sketch from one of their friends.
